To enter your BWE horse/breedable in an Authorized BWE auction please read the terms and guidelines below before registering.

• Registration closes when the auction location is full (20 stalls registered) or 2 hours prior to each auction’s start time.
• Be sure to indicate a Starting Bid or a Reserve Bid Price on the registration form. This serves as your approval of sale at the price you choose. All horses/breedables will sell at your Starting Bid, meet the Reserve Price you set or be a “No Sale”. If you do not choose a starting bid or reserve price during registration, the starting bid will default to the stated minimum bid of the auction house you are registered at.
• No swapping of horses/breedables in an auction once they have been registered. If something accidentally happens to your registered horse/breedable, you may file a ticket to replace your entry.
• If you have a real-life emergency and it is close to the auction start time, you may use a proxy to sell your horse, most auctioneers/auction house owners will do this for you, please contact them to let them know. The use of a proxy should be very rare. Abuse of this courtesy can lead to loss of auction privileges.
• If you need to remove a registered horse/breedable from an auction, please do so as soon as possible by filing a ticket. This allows BWE and the auction location enough time to offer the slot to another seller and to adjust the auction location catalog.
• Your horse needs to be at least 3 days old or foals (under 3 days old) must have a nursing kit provided by the seller if it sells. The Mare does not go with the foal as part of the sale.
• You may register a Mare that is pregnant. If the baby is born before the auction, it will not be included in the sale and will need to have a Nursing Kit applied.
• The Stall/Podium Registration Fees will be set by the Auction House owners, not BreedWorks.
• The Seller must be onsite during the auction to complete auction house payments and collecting/transferring the breedable to the Buyer. Neither BWE nor the auction house is responsible for your breedable or the financial transactions. That is the sole responsibility of the Seller.
• Sellers are responsible for paying a 10% fee of the final sold price to the auction house. These fees are due and payable immediately after the sale is completed. This goes to the auction house owners, not to BreedWorks.
• In the spirit of fair play, we encourage principled and honorable conduct within the guidelines of the Auction House rules and general camaraderie of the BreedWorks community.

Anyone who consistently does not adhere to these simple rules or participates in any unprincipled or unscrupulous conduct at any BWE Auction, will not be tolerated and may result in disciplinary action by the auction houses and/or BWE – BreedWorksHQ Management either on a suspension or permanent basis.

To become a Licensed Auctioneer, please read and familiarize yourself with Auction Seller Information section as well as this section and complete and submit the Auctioneer License Application on this page.

Requirements:

• All Auctioneer applicants will need to attend our quick and easy BWE approved Auction Licensing Class for introduction to the BWE auction system.
• Licensed Auctioneers should be familiar with the BWE Auction House & Auctioneer Guidelines.
• During instruction you will be given the opportunity of conducting an auction in class for approval. This is not to assess your skill level but only to be sure you understand the basics of auctioneering.
• Once you are licensed you will be eligible to preside over a BWE Authorized Auction Location, as an “in-house” or “freelance” Auctioneer.

Guidelines:

• As a licensed BWE Auctioneer you will need to familiarize yourself with the Auction Locations regulations/rules and negotiate payment for conducting the auction with the Auction House Owner.
• Be onsite at least 1 hour before the auction starts to receive the catalog of horses.
• Auctioneers will need to display their BWE License at each auction house they call at. These will be provided by BWE.
• Auctioneer will be asked to assist in gathering sales information for the auction that will be turned in to the BWE Auction Team.

All applicants will need to meet certain requirements and follow the simple guidelines put in place by BWE and its staff. To become a Licensed Auctioneer, please read and familiarize yourself with Auction Seller Information, Auctioneer Information as well as this section. If you feel that your location meets these requirements, please complete and submit The Auction House Application Form on this page.

Prerequisites to owning a BWE Auction House

• You will be knowledgeable about the product, i.e. how the horses work, setting up food, buying and selling horses, nursing kits, and other consumables.
• You will have basic understanding of the BWE Breed Logic.
• You must have a BWE auctioneer license and have some breedable auctioneer experience.
• Be familiar with the BWE website and MyBWE, so you can help others navigate. Especially understand the Auctions sections.
• You will have maintained a mature level of behavior and conduct within the BWE Community before requesting an auction house.
• There is no guarantee of acceptance. If you have any further questions, please file a support ticket.

Requirements:

• The venue can be in any style/theme as well as multi-breedable market sims but must have a place for one, 20 entry auction of BWE horses/breedables per week with numbered podiums to place the breedables for easy identification. (Multi-breedable sims are welcome!)
• You will need to provide BWE a square logo, landmark, and slurl for your auction location so we can create a space for you on our website.
• Provide a location in the auction area for displaying your BWE Auction House License and BWE Auctioneer Licenses, these will be provided to you after completing the quick and simple class.
• All Authorized BWE Auction Locations will need to have a BWE Licensed Auctioneer presiding over auctions. You can auctioneer yourself, hire an in-house or freelance Licensed BWE Auctioneer.
• Agree to the BWE Code of Ethics at the bottom of this section.

Guidelines:

• Auction time slots will be determined by first come, first serve basis. Auctions are 2-hour slots, and no two auctions will take place at the same time until all reasonable time slots have been assigned.
• The Auction catalog will be sent to the auction house 2 hours prior to the auction start time by the BWE Auction Team.
• The Auction Location will provide a notecard giver for your auction catalog. The catalog is placed in a box/giver usually placed near the auctioneer. The BWE catalog should NOT have the start bid/reserve prices. The pricing needs to be removed, that information is for the Auction House management and the Auctioneer only.
• The Auction House will be responsible for sending BWE the auction sales results to be added to your auction house page on the website. This needs to be done within 2 hours of auction close.
• Sellers are responsible for paying a 10% fee of the final sold price to the Auction House. These fees are due and payable immediately after the sale is complete and before the Seller/Representative leaves the Auction House. This is for the Auction House, not BreedWorks.
• The Auction House is responsible for paying BWE a 40L$ service charge per podium registered at the end of each auction. This service charge covers the costs of the Auction Team.
• There is a limit of one horse/breedable per podium.
• BWE is not responsible for sellers’ unpaid fees, although this is a serious infraction against the guidelines and there are consequences; please notify the BWE Auction Team with the details of the Auction date/time/final sale price and any conversation documentation gathered.
• If these guidelines are not followed you risk losing your privileges as an Authorized Auction House or any activity involving BWE auctions could be suspended or permanently removed.

-BWE Auction House Code of Ethics-

As members of BreedWorks Auction House Owners, we are committed to you, the customer.  To honor this commitment, all BWE licensed auction houses have agreed to the following code of ethics.

• We will not compete either directly or indirectly with our customers during our auctions by artificially driving up the sale prices.
• No auction house owner will gouge patrons with exorbitant fees or accept bribes of money or property to ensure the selling of a horse.
• Auction houses serve the clients with the best interest of the overall market in mind and as such no auction house owner will knowingly undercut any other auction house.
• Sale prices will be accurately reported to BWE. These prices determine the overall market and should realistically reflect current trends.
• No customer will be refused service, unless there is evidence to support an abuse of the BWE terms of service or rules of etiquette as established by the auction house.
• All BWE auction houses will act as a true coalition and provide a level of cooperation and civility between the auctions to support the industry.  This includes being respectful of your allotted time and providing courtesy notification if auctions are running behind due to SL maintenance/issues.
• Each auction house will support each other by reporting repeat NO SHOW registrants.  This allows all our clients equal opportunity to sell their horses.  Repeat offenders will be banned from selling at auction for a period of 1 (one week). Each auction house may have additional rules which apply to their auction house only.
• No Auction house owner/auctioneers are permitted sell their own horses or bid in their own auction or one they are working at. No owner or auctioneer will use an alternative avatar (“alt”) or a proxy seller (asking another to sell for them) in order to sell an entry or bid in their own auction. Other non-auction sim staff may register, bid and sell horses and ponies at the sim they work at. Each auction house may have additional rules which apply to their auction house only.

For our clients, we will work hard to provide superior services in a timely, effective, and efficient manner, while maintaining the highest standards of professional integrity, honesty, transparency, accountability, and objectivity.  We will treat our clients with the utmost respect and maintain the confidentiality implied by our agreement to represent you in all transactions associated with BWE auction houses.
